Nothin’s Embarrassing: TEA HACIC In The Kitchen

Tea Hacic: Writer, Filmer, Comedian- General All Rounder ❤

Hi Tea, how are you today?

Good! My dog didn’t poop in the house today!

What’s your favourite thing to make in the kitchen?

Do you associate the kitchen with a place of homeliness?

Not really…as a kid I ate in front of the TV. As an adolescent I avoided kitchens completely because I didn’t wanna eat. Now that I’ve got my own kitchen I associate it with having to clean! I do think kitchens are great places during hangovers (via take-out leftovers), arguments (via knives) and photo-shoots (via white surfaces).

What are you up to today?

Just editing some videos and scrolling online shops for hours until all of the things I want become one intangible blur of faux fur and lycra!

I think you’re one of the coolest, funniest people I’ve come across online. It appears as if you’re multitalented. Are you worried about falling into the ‘it girl’ category..someone who just ‘does it all’?

Omg, thank you! I WISH I could worry about that! Nobody has ever called me an It Girl…I think “doing it all” keeps me from getting certain gigs because I may seem less reliable or dedicated to one job? Sometimes I wish I had focused on ONE thing…like fraud.

Your videos seem very satirical and taking on a new persona. Is that accurate? Or is that just a side of yourself?

My videos and the personas I play in them are always a delicate mix of satire and honesty. Sometimes the lines between the two get blurred. Sometimes I wonder if I’m becoming a parody of myself. Like, am I a performance artist or just a shallow person?

What advice would you give to a 20 year old scared about failing in life?

The only way you can really “fail” in life is by dying. So as long as you’re alive and trying, you’re technically thriving! *adjusts shades* *puffs pipe* *wheezes*

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

When I was in middle school my mother told me that “everyone you know will be dead in a hundred years so it doesn’t matter what they think about you.”

The second best piece of advice I ever received was from myself! (Thank you, Tea. You’re welcome, Tea!) “Nothing is embarrassing if you aren’t embarrassed.”

I’ve seen pictures of you at a comedy club. How was that? Was it super scary?

Stand-up isn’t that scary! I enjoy attention so much that it outweighs the fear of people booing me off stage (which so far has only ever happened when I took my clothes off at fashion parties…comedy clubs don’t provoke me in that way…for now).

Could you tell us a joke?

What keeps you up at night?

What I’m going to wear the next day.

Do you agree that any woman who isn’t a feminist is stupid?

I would say that she’s ignorant. I would say that she doesn’t understand what the word means. I would say that she should read more…starting with my blog!

What’s the best cure for a broken heart?

Whiskey, friends and lots of time. Revenge doesn’t hurt, either.
