WORDS: ANNA SAMPSON
ART: SARA RABIN
This week I have been taking it easy since I worked back-to-back shifts for a while. Now that I can relax I have been laying in the sun and drinking beer and I went to MoMa.
WHAT’S THE LAST THING YOU COOKED?
IF YOU WERE A TYPE OF FOOD, WHAT WOULD YOU BE AND WHY?
I would be a steak. It’s my favorite food.
SUM UP YOUR ART IN THREE WORDS!
Fast, smart and small.
WHAT’S THE INSPO BEHIND YOUR CREATIONS?
My work is inspired by people. I find people very interesting because I don’t think I have ever felt like one. I feel like an alien studying people and emotions. People confuse and amaze me always.
WHEN YOU MAKE DO YOU HAVE A ROUTINE?
Yes. It involves a lot of procrastinating.
IF YOU COULD EXHIBIT ANYWHERE WHERE WOULD IT BE?
I love Japan. I would love to show my work in Tokyo.
YOU’RE NOT AN ARTIST ANYMORE.. WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING INSTEAD?
A vet tech, or maybe work in the creative part of advertising.
DO YOU HAVE A TALENT PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED BY?
Yes but if I told you it wouldn’t be a surprise… but I’ll give you a hint : I’m very flexible.
WHAT KEEPS YOU UP AT NIGHT?
Literally anything, I’m a terrible sleeper.
WHAT IS NEXT 4 YOU?
I have no idea and that’s how I like it. Oh, I am getting a studio this summer though, I’m excited to see how that grows my work. I’ve only been able to make work the size of my sketchpad the last 2 years and now I can have some room to play.
